1. Introduction
Dental residencies are available annually for a period of one calendar year commencing in June. Successful candidates are registered as postgraduate students in the Faculty of Dentistry. The withdrawal of government funding has reduced remuneration and the number of positions that are available. however, the annual stipend is in the range of $25,000 (less reasonable deductions).


2. Program Description: The Dental Residency Program at the University of Toronto Teaching Hospitals (approximately twelve positions)

Residencies in general dentistry are available in the following University of Toronto Teaching Hospitals:

The Hospital for Sick Children
Mount Sinai Hospital
Sunnybrook Health Science Centre
Each of these hospitals has an active dental department and offers a wide range of dental services. Residents are given supervised clinical experience in hospital dentistry and assignments to other hospital departments. A three-week assignment to a northern Ontario hospital is available. A special seminar course for dental residents is arranged by the Hospital Relations Committee of the Faculty.
