Other dental specialty programs

 

  • Applicants must have graduated from an undergraduate dental program
  • Applicants must provide proof of graduation from a specialty program/degree or must provide proof of current registration in a specialty program.
  • Must apply to the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and obtain an educational license for the duration of their elective program. Contact RCDS(O) directly and apply at least four months in advance of your anticipated arrival date.
  • Applicants must provide a letter from the Director of their program approving the rotation.
  • Applicants will pay a registration fee to the Faculty of Dentistry based on duration of program.
  • All students must comply with the current University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry infection control and immunization policies and if accepted must submit:
    • Proof of current immunization – completed visiting student immunization form
    • Hepatitis B antibody status
    • TB immunization status
    • Other – mask fit test may be required
  • International students who do not have proof of private health coverage for the duration of the elective or enrol in UHIP (University Health Insurance Plan)
  • It is expected students will be proficient in English.
  • International students must comply with the immigration laws of Canada (as contained in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and in the regulations made in pursuance of that Act).
  • International students (including those from the United States) are required by Canadian Immigration to undergo a medical examination done by a physician on Canada’s list of designated medical practitioners. This should be done at least two months prior of your arrival date.
  • In most cases we do not provide funding or housing for elective students. However, contact program directly for further information.
  • Fellowship positions may be funded, contact the program directly for details.
