Residencies in General Dentistry

The Dental Residency Program at the University of Toronto (U of T) Teaching Hospitals

Thirteen positions are normally available. Residencies in general dentistry are offered in the following hospitals:

  • The Hospital for Sick Children
  • Mount Sinai Hospital
  • Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

Each of these hospitals has an active dental department and offers a wide range of dental services. (See the Hospital Dental Residency Information Sheet .) Residents are given supervised clinical experience in hospital dentistry and assignments to other hospital departments. A three-week to one-month assignment to a northern Ontario hospital is also offered. A special seminar course for dental residents is arranged by the Graduate and Postgraduate Education Committee of the Faculty of Dentistry.
