New PatientsAt your initial screening appointments, you will be assessed to determine if you are a suitable patient for our students. Please see below a notice which is posted in all Faculty clinics regarding patient suitability:
At your initial appointment, we will take x-rays for your case file in our Radiology Clinic. On the day of this first appointment, please bring photo identification with you as we require it to register you as a patient. The fee for basic x-rays is about $50.00*, due when you report for your visit. Right after your x-rays are taken, you'll be asked to report to the Oral Diagnosis Clinic where you will make an appointment for your second visit. In Oral Diagnosis, your treatment needs can be evaluated in detail and a determination will be made as to your suitability for our teaching clinics. It is also essential that your treatment needs be thoroughly evaluated so that your case can be assigned to the appropriate student provider. A basic Oral Diagnosis appointment costs about $43.00*, due when you report for your first visit. If you decide at any time not to continue treatment with us, you may take your x-rays to your private dentist, but your case file will remain with us. A copy of your file can be provided to you for a small administrative fee and after you have signed a request for a copy. How Soon Will You Get Work Done on Your Teeth? Depending on the time of year and our need for patients, it can take weeks or even months to be assigned to a student. Depending on your needs, it can take up to two years (and sometimes even longer), to complete all your dental work here. If you are in a hurry to get dental work done or have a specific deadline in mind, you should consider going to a private dentist whose office schedule will be much more flexible than our students' schedules. *fees subject to change without notice |
