The Audiovisual Library holds more than 8,000 videocassettes, videodiscs, multimedia programmes, 16mm films, slidetape programmes and audiocassettes relating to the courses taught at the University of Toronto. It also houses a collection of journals and newspapers on microfilm and a reference collection of catalogues, books, and periodicals related to media. With the exception of the reference collection and those materials reserved for class use, this collection is circulating and may be searched using the University of Toronto Library Catalogue. Dedicated to the study of the Reformation and the Renaissance, the Centre for Reformation and Renaissance Studies focuses on the period between 1350 and 1700. The Centre's library houses over 25,000 modern books on a variety of subjects relating to the time period as well as an extensive collection of microfilm and microfiche and over 4,000 rare books printed prior to 1700. The Edward P. Taylor Research Library and Archives incorporates several collections: an art reference library, a rare book library, an archives of Canadian art and a multi-media resource on contemporary art. The rare book library includes art historical source books, folio, artist books and multiples, illustrated books, magazine illustrations, guidebooks, sale catalogues, and books illustrated by Canadian artists. Interlibrary loans are available for some of the material in the collections. A portion of the library's holdings can be searched using the Art Gallery of Ontario's own library catalogue available on its website (above) while all other material must be searched using the card catalogue located in the gallery's library.

The Fine Art Library is primarily composed of two collections: a collection of 28,000 exhibition catalogues and an extensive collection of photographs. The collection of photographs focus on Medieval architecture and manuscripts, Roman sculpture, and works in ivory and metal. The library's holdings also include reference books, travel guides, a number of monographs, and theses by graduates from the Department. This collection is non-circulating. A portion of the library's collection of exhibition catalogues has been catalogued and these may be searched using the University of Toronto Library Catalogue. The Information Studies Inforum focuses on library and information science and archives and records management. The more than 12,000 volumes housed in this library contain information on information systems and technology, research methodology and design, publishing and the book trade, statistics and management. The collection also contains general reference works, bibliographies, library catalogues, pamphlets, audiovisual and microform materials. The library currently subscribes to some 900 serials, including journals, newsletters, annual reports and calendars. The Joseph Sablé Centre for 19th Century French Studies houses two rare book collections: the Sablé Collection and the Zola Collection. The Sable Collection is comprised of some 12,000 volumes (most of them in original edition) on French Romanticism and French history and society in the 19th century. The collection also contains a number of period journals available in printed editions and on microfilm. The Zola Collection includes all of Emile Zola’s works as well as those by other Naturalists. The collections are non-circulating. Some photocopying by the staff is available. The holdings are held in closed stacks. The focus of the Pontifical Institute for Medieval Studies Library focuses is medieval studies, in particular medieval philosophy and theology although a range of material on medieval history, law, liturgy, and literature is also available. The library contains over 100, 000 volumes, including many period manuscripts, and several slide collections. Over 20,000 more printed books and manuscripts are available in microform.
