Sister St. John Entrance Awards and Sister St. John In-course scholarships Awarded to honour the memory of Sister St. John O’Malley who served as a revered and respected Professor of Classics at St. Michael’s College for over forty years.

Purpose:To honour the memory of Sister St. John O’Malley who served as a revered and respected Professor of Classics at St. Michael’s College for over forty years.
Criteria: Sponsored by the Sister St. John O’Malley Fund, these entrance awards are designed to recognize students who have shown strong academic performance at the high school level, and who intend to enrol in at least one course in the Christianity and Culture Program in their first year of full-time study (i.e. full 5.0 course equivalents) at St. Michael’s College.
Applicants must be Ontario residents and must have demonstrated financial need (according to U of T criteria, financial need is determined by the receipt of Ontario Student Assistance Program funding). Students receiving OSAP funding will be given priority; however, other cases of financial need will be considered. These awards will be credited to the recipients’ tuition fees.
The letter of introduction must explain briefly the applicant’s interest in taking a course in the Christianity and Culture program. The applicant may include a statement regarding extra-curricular activities in which she/he participated throughout high school.

Criteria: Sponsored by the Sister St. John O’Malley Trust Fund, these scholarships are awarded to full-time students who are enrolled in the Christianity and Culture program, and who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and participation in the life of the College. These in-course scholarships are renewable for one year. These scholarships will be credited to the recipients’ tuition fees.
