Foundational Theology:
An Introduction for Catholic Leaders
Designed for leaders (and for those aspiring to postitons of leadership)
in Catholic education, youth ministry, health and social services, this
course provides an introduction to Catholic theology. Topics presented
include: faith and the believing community, tradition, revelation,
sacraments, Christian moral life, sin and forgiveness, prayer and
spirituality and various pastoral concerns. Through participation in 10
weeks of on-line discussion and one weekend on campus, participants
will develop an understanding of the foundational principles of Catholic
theology, and the skills needed to apply them to ministerial work and
everyday life.

A Certificate Program in Scripture Studies: The Gospels
in their Jewish Context
Offered in partnership with Bat Kol Institute of Jerusalem.
We will read and seek to understand the biblical stories and teachings
in their original Jewish cultural setting and historical context, using the
many Jewish sources available in light of the covenant in a post-Nostra
Aetate world.
In Year I (2008-9) the biblical themes will be based on the biblical
texts of parables and other stories, relating the New and Old Testament
applications and understandings, with special relevance for religious
education classrooms and parish teaching opportunities. Units of
pre-study material will be sent to participants.
