Kelly Library: Accessibility

There is a slight inclined ramp from street level to the covered plaza in front of the library entrance; the entrance is at grade level from this plaza. There is a power assisted door to enter the lobby of the building, and another to enter the library itself.

There is one computer workstation on the ground floor which has a desktop slightly higher than the other workstations and is appropriate for someone who uses a wheelchair. Almost all computers in the library are equipped with magnification software; many also have text narration software.

The Library has a growing collection of DVDs many of which have optional subtitles. There is also a small collection of audio-cassettes.

Library staff are happy to assist patrons with special needs by looking up titles in the library catalogue, and retrieving materials from the stacks. Patrons who need assistance should identify themselves to staff at the Reference Desk or the Circulation Desk.
