The fine for overdue material is $0.50 per day ($0.50 per hour for Short Term Loan materials). After the initial 2 weeks of the loan period, books which are needed by another patron may be recalled. Recalled material is fined at the rate of $2.00 per day.
Unpaid fines of $25.00 result in a loss of borrowing privileges.
The charge for an item which is lost is $145.00.
If not requested by another patron, books may be renewed once in person, by telephone (416) 926-7114 x 3475, or online using the 'My Account' feature. If you have already renewed a book once but still want to use it, please bring the item to the Circulation Desk; if it is not needed by another patron, we will check it out to you again.
DVDs cannot be renewed online or by telephone. If you still want to use a DVD after the one-week loan period, please bring the item to the Circulation Desk; if it is not needed by another patron, we will check it out to you again.
Placing a hold on a book that is charged out to another patron ensures that it will not be renewed and that it will be made available to you when it is returned. To place a hold contact the owning library in person or by telephone; the name of the author and the title of the book are required. You may also place a hold using the library's web catalogue using the 'Request Item' feature. Holds cannot be placed on books on Short Term Loan.
