The Library has a variety of types of study spaces to serve the various needs of different students.
On the first floor of the Library the Kelly Café has seating for over a hundred people. There are also further carrels, group study tables, and lounge seating elsewhere on the ground floor, near the journals display area and the reference collection.
There is seating for over two hundred people on the second floor of the Library. This floor is particularly appropriate for group study. There are three group study rooms on the east side of the floor.
The third floor of the library with seating for over 150 people is reserved for silent study only. Also on the third floor are 42 private study carrels allocated each year to graduate students (21 to students of the Faculty of Theology; 21 to students of the French, German, Italian, and Slavic departments).
In the basement of the Library there are a small number of coat lockers (72"H X 11"W X 16"D) which are assigned for a semester. Please ask at the Circulation Desk about availability. A $20.00 deposit is returned to the patron when the locker is vacated at the end of the semester.
