PURPOSE
Special Student status is designed to assist those who are interested in Scripture, Systematic and Moral Theology, Church History, and Pastoral Theology, for personal or professional reasons, especially those who cannot study full-time. Some Special Students are interested in discerning whether or not they would be qualified to pursue a degree or diploma studies at a later time. A Special Student may study on a full or part-time basis. For qualified students, courses done as a Special Student may be transferred to degree or diploma programs should they later decide to change status. However, no more than one half of the total course work required for any particular degree or diploma may be taken from among the courses completed while the student was in the Special Student category.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Same as those listed for the Diploma Programs.
CURRICULAR REQUIREMENTS
While there are no specific curricular requirements, there are certain foundation courses which must be completed as prerequisites before a student may be admitted to more advanced studies.
DURATION OF STUDY
There is no limit of time for Special Students admitted with an undergraduate degree. Qualified, mature students without an undergraduate degree are admitted for only one term of study after which they must petition each term for continuing study.
